Hi All,
I applied for naturalisation a year ago today (17/07/2014), and I'm still waiting for the Home Office to make a decision, even though my case is pretty straight forward. I continuously contacted the Home Office after the first 6 months passed but was told it could potentially take them another 3-6 months to make a decision, rounding it up to a year long process. I contacted my local MP back in January 2015 to see if that would speed things up or at least get an explanation as to why the process seems to be taking longer than usual but they responded with 'great levels of scrutiny' being applied to applications following recent clarification of the nationality rules. I was just wondering if anyone here has had the same or similar experience with their naturalisation application, and any advise on what I should do next?

Many Thanks!

Congratulations, just share us does your nationality is on the high risk or not please?

I am running in 19 Month waiting even no criminal record. I was involved MP and Solicitor as well but unhelpful.
Best wishes.

19 months is a very long time! You should contact your local MP again and ask them to chase it up for you. I also think you should file a complaint by sending an email to the following email addresses( FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, Onationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) on your email, you should explain your situation in detail and don't forget to include you HO reference number, full name and date of birth. I hope it all gets sorted for you soon.
All the best of luck!

Hi,

here is an update:

applied at the end of July 2014 for British citizenship using NCS Kingston. I am EEA having PR confirmation. Followed up with MP about my application status multiple times. I received today my British citizenship certificate. :)

Received citizenship invitation letter last week where the date of the letter itself was from two weeks ago. Be patient.
