Confusion over COS allocation and COS assign

Dear Gurus,
My Tier2 (general) extension will be due on August-2017. Do my company has to place request in the SMS for COS allocation then assign it or they can create and assign COS for me straightway? My COS will be unrestricted COS.

Please note, i am the only tier2 migrant in the company and never requested any COS after i got my initial Tier2 (g) visa on 2014.

Simply ask your company to check in the SMS if there is CoS allocated, if there is, then it can be assigned directly. Otherwise, the company needs to request CoS allocation.
