Tier 1 General dependent visa extension queries

Post by mash1234 » Tue Sep 12, 2017 9:11 am

Hi there,

I am a British citizen and my wife is in Tier 1 dependent visa. My wife's Visa will expire on 16/01/2018 and she will apply for another extension for 3 years.

I have following questions:
1. How long ago I can book her for a premium service? Can I apply on 16/11/2017 which is 2 months before the visa expires?
2. My wife’s passport will expire on 05 May 2018, which can be extended for another 5 years. If we apply on 16/11/2017, the passport will expire in 6 months’ time. Will it affect the extension of visa?

Thanks in advance.

1. Should be fine. Any particular reason why you want to apply early and not within 28 days before expiry?

2. The passport must be valid at the time of application. There is no requirement that it must be valid for a minimum of X months.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

There is no particular reason to apply early, however, we will apply within 28 days before expiry.

Thanks and regards,

People normally apply early if they have travel plans for example, hence my question.

We don't have any travel plans. So will apply within 28 days.

As My wife's statement usually comes on 8th of each month, if we book premium service on 22th, will the bank statement be accepted?

Assuming you mean December, yes it should be fine.
