Divorce in Baltic country and Retention EU5.

Hi All,
It's been 4 years married to EU Citizen, things are not working so with mutual decision decide to separate our ways(Divorce). so yesterday I meet solicitor for divorce in Baltic country, he said yes I can. but thing which confused me is

He said
1. you will need to register that mrrg their (That make sense),
2. She also need to be into that baltic country with address etc..

so if we show she's living there and get divorce then how I can apply retention as that's the retention requirement that EU citizen need to be in state at the time of divorce..

will really appreciate your thoughts guys.

If things are not working so both need to get relaxed either way separate or sadly end up .but sepration will not support retention or card etc so has to be divorced for retention this is my personal experienced.

1 ) Marriage has to be registered first and then divorce process begin .
2 ) there is no issue if eu spouse or family members present addeess in Baltic state they only sent summon to let eu spouse knows whats going on thats all.
3 ) it's will not effect on retention if eu spouse in IRL and got divorced there own country.

It's my opinion, seniors members can suggest too

Even if the marriage was registered in Ireland, divorce can still take place in the Baltic country. My marriage was registered in Ireland, however, the divorce took place elsewhere. But the EU spouse must have an address in their country of origin (like Grace said above).

That make sense Alixlboy. but question is after divorce when you will apply for Retention then how you will satisfy the Department that your wife is in state.. don't you think they can say EU Spouse is registered in another country so means she wasn't here in Ireland.

regardless of her registered address she was economically active at the time of divorce in Ireland.
