Tier 4 - Dependents Maintenance Funds

Hi,

I have just commenced my studies (this October) in the UK on Tier 4 visa, and now I want to bring my dependents here. I have two questions:

1: Do I need to provide financial evidence for myself i.e. fees + maintenance funds for 9 months? I am a self-funded PhD student and I have paid 2/3 of my fees for the first year and the remaining fee (1/3) is due in January.


2: If the answer is YES to the above question, can I show the funds for myself and for my dependents in a bank in my home country? In other words, whether it is a requirement to show maintenance and other funds for main applicant in the UK if the main applicant is currently in the UK?

I hope someone may have similar experience to share.

You already have the visa so you don’t need to show any finances for yourself.
Only for your dependents.
Money can be held in the name of dependent or yourself
