i applied online to renew my CTD on 03/01/2019
send a documents on 04/01/2019
received by HO on 07/01/2019
received acknowledgement letter dated 09/01/2019 so
why you are not receiving acknowlegement letters ....no idea
if you can see that tracked letters are delivered to them then you should not worry
and wait 14 weeks i think

Mmm same here. Made an application for travel document 28th January and money came out same day. Documents received on 29th and nothing.

I hope the 70 days starts from when they receive the documents not when they sent the letter and hopefully they don’t have a ridiculous backlog.

Hello Guys.

Am a silent reader of this forum. Here is my timeline.

Applied online on 03/12/2018
Acknowledgement received on 19/12/2018
Travel document received on 27/02/19

For your information home office replied to my email sent on Jan 2019 saying that they process applications on chronological order. So those who are waiting do not worry.

Best of Luck for all.

Hi Shan,
Yes I understand they deal in a chronological manner but most of us that applied in January haven’t received any acknowledgment letter so we are just worried if we should contact them about it since we are unsure if they’ve received it. Thank you

Hello Kaylala

As far as I know on my experience is it’s better to contact them ASAP coz my for first application applied on August 2018 did not receive a acknowledgment letter. By End of November 2018 I contacted HO but they couldn’t find my application. So I re applied on Dec 2018 via online and got the acknowledgement letter.

Way to contact HO is

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 1_2018.pdf

Read Paragraphs 18.

Normally all government bodies include HO sends acknowledgment letter for all applications made to them.

All d best Kaylala

Hi guys,

I’ve contacted home office about not receiving acknowledgement letter and they say they can confirm they have the application and didn’t give any reason why they haven’t sent it out. Also the 70 working day starts from when they receive the post. Hope this helps and would put an ease to some of us that haven’t heard anything from them

I called them and they said they do NOT send acknowledgment letters if you applied online. They also told me that you will most likely get a decision within 70 WORKING days. Hope this is helpful :)

Thank you very much that's quite helpful, they should have told us on the website that they wouldn't send acknowledgement letters.

Thanks for this however it's still quite confusing as the poster above stated he applied online and received acknowledgement letter days later

I am trying to renew my Travel document but there are online options only not like before form and online and I am just confused about the whole progress of the online application. Have any of you used the online application and if you could give advice on how to complete it.

Hi everyone which number are you calling to check progress on applications.

I can only find the email online. It’s says they reply to emails within 30 working days!!!! That like 6 weeks - Must be the worst run institution in the country!

Honestly who sits on an email for that long.

You can't call them to check the status of your application. You can call them to ask general questions about the application process but they don't have access to check its status. I called this number and thats what they told me:

‭‭0300 123 2241‬

Thank you. It would nice if they could confirm receipt of applications not just ignore. I will call and see what they say because still no acknowledgment.

I ended up sending an email regarding the lack of acknowledgment letter and they replied pretty much next day.

Confirmed they received everything and did not give a reason why an acknowledgment letter was not issued out.

They also said they are track to processing applications within 70 working days so hopefully not much delays.

I applied on 21st January and hope I receive CTD in 3 weeks time as I go to Paris for Easter Holiday!
I have already cancelled my trip to Greece last week and lost some money so hope they issue my travel document asap ... It took only 3-4 weeks when I applied in 2014 so I really don't understand why it takes so long!! Even ILR took less than 3 months ...

Hi!
CAN you please give me your timeline and would you mind telling us how the post came. Did you have to sign for it or they just put it through your mail box. Did you receive a letter saying your application has been approved and all of that sort.
