Tajik Citizenship

Tajik Citizenship

My Wife is a citizen of Russia, but was born in Tajikistan - when it was a Soviet Republic

She has a Tajik Birth certificate

Tajikistan seems to have a dual citizenship agreement with Russia - whee my wife lived at the time of the fall of the USSR and was resident - so obtaining a RU passport


I contacted the Tajik embassy in London ( UK ) and they said that one must go to Tajikistan ... but this conflicts with the laws of Tajikistan - whereby it claims one can visit an consulate - if not resident

Anyone got any experience of this ?
