Father ILR - UK Born Baby

Post by ExpertUser2019 » Wed May 01, 2019 9:27 pm

Hi

I recently got my ILR, my two babies are born in the UK but one baby is abroad, mother on Tier 2 Dependant.

Can i Register my two babies while one is in UK and one is abroad and also when mother does not have ILR?

Can baby travel out of the UK after submitting the application online and in person ?

If Yes to above, can i send passports to back home for them to come back to UK?

Help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Children born in the UK yes. Free to travel.

Child born abroad no. They will follow same path as your spouse, ILR and then BC.

Thanks

Sorry if i confused you.

Both children's born here, but elder one is abroad with Tier 2 dependant visa with grand mom.

Can i submit application for baby in UK and travel abroad ?

Can i also submit application for other baby born in UK, but now abroad and bring both back once they have Passports ?

If a parent has ILR, then a UK born child is entitled to register from anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to make it easy.

MN! Form query

Post by ExpertUser2019 » Tue May 14, 2019 5:57 pm

HI All

Where do i mention eligibility criteria in online form ?

Do we have to mention section 1(3) or 3(1) anywhere while filling MN1 as i cant see this option anywhere.

I am on ILR and applying register as british citizen for uk born child (parents on Tier 2 when baby is born).

Thanks in advance

There should be a drop down menu with a list of options. What are they??

It has this options below

You were born in the UK

One or both your parents are settled in the UK

One or both your parents has become a British Citizen

One or both your parents is applying for British citizenship

One or both your parents has joined the UK armed forces and you were born on or after 13 January 2010

You were born before 1 July 2006 to a British or settled father and your parents were not married

Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary

I know i have to select first option but should i mention anywhere section 1 or 3 ?

If there is nowhere to put it in then no. HO (surprisingly) do actually know the nationality laws

And if there is somewhere, it is ONLY section 1(3) that applies, not 3(1).
