Received IDV invite today (applied late August) and booked appointment for next week. If in the event that I can't attend the appointment, will it be possible to cancel the appointment and switch to use IDV instead?

Yes you have both the options for now.

Hello, I have submitted my naturalisation application online on 1st September and uploaded my all supporting documents on ukvcas. I got the email from ukvi on 2nd September that your application has been received and it's being considered. Can you please advise me that can I do anything else on my application or everything has been done from my side.
How it will be work further. Can you please explain me.

For now the system is not open for applicants who applied on/after 28th August. You will need to wait and follow UKVCAS updates. You will be notified about the next steps via email.
You will either be chosen for IDV app if your biometrics can be reused or offered to attend an UKVCAS appointment otherwise. For now, you do not have to do anything else from your side.

Also, if you have uploaded all documents via the UKVCAS website, the best approach is to submit it to UKVI via the UKVCAS website. You will see a button to “submit” at the end of the document upload page.
You will be able to add more documents at a later stage via UKVCAS appointment/IDV app if needed.

Applied 31/07, received email confirming biometric reuse eligibility 27/08, received invite to use IDV app 04/09, completed IDV 06/09.

Had already uploaded all documents before receiving biometric reuse email so IDV took about 2mins to complete. Sole applicant, Tier 2 + 1yr ILR, non-EU.

Since corona cases are surging again, fears of a second peak setting in, I personally believe its best to go for IDV app if you are chosen for biometrics reuse.

until now not IDV App invitation.

UKVCAS telling they will send before 7th sep 2020.

Applied Naturalisation on 23th August - received IDV invite Sunday 6th September - documents already upload and can see it on the APP just need to complete ID Verification .

Guys, I received my naturalisation application approval by email today. I had applied online on 6th May 2020. Submitted facial image through IDV on 26th August 2020 and got the approval email today. Good luck to all of you.
We now know that they have started processing applicants who had submitted biometrics through IDV.

A quick timeline for a successful application

Application submitted 30/3/2020

UKVI have identified you as being eligible for this new approach involving biometric reuse - EMAIL on 3/7/2020

UKVCAS Biometric reuse update - EMAIL on 31/7/2020

Invitation08 to use the new UKVCAS IDV app - EMAIL on 21/08/2020. Submission of facial recog and passport via IDV on 21/8/2020

Letter of Approval via email on 07/09/2020

Awaiting ceremony now.

They are definitely not going in order application were submitted.

I believe decisions are based on the date of biometrics submitted via the IDV app. Note every case is processed on its own merits. Not all cases can have the same decision pace.

It doesn’t make sense looking from here but I am sure there is a method behind the madness if you understood how that department works.
We would all probably go “ahhhhhhh thats why ... this or that”
And I am sure there are exceptions too.

It would be interesting to hear their perspective.

Just wondering what is the Email subject title for approval ? Did you guys receive it in Junk folder ?

I'm worried I missed the email. It would be helpful to advise the AM/PM as well so we know.

Same situation here , apply 26th July, got invitation for reuse, awaiting for 2nd email.

Hi @null1639, I submitted via IDV on 24 Aug. and have not heard back either; so, don't assume it's exactly on date order for every individiual application. There's probably some variance and hopefully we'll all hear soon.

Perhaps not even exactly that. I submitted on 24 Aug., still waiting. But, like you said, individual merits (and possibly what luck you ride with caseworkers) have impact.

I applied on 4th may and idv facial image on 26 august 2020. Did not hear back yet. Its defo not in order so dun worry and at one point we will get answer. Lets see how they are doing. Many thanks.
