Switching to Skilled Worker Visa - Delay

Post by midhun3197 » Sun Sep 12, 2021 12:12 pm

Hi,
It has been 12 weeks since I applied to switch from T5 to SW visa. I received an email saying that the application will be delayed as the Immigration skills charge payment was not made initially. It has been 4 weeks since the top up was paid. How long does it usually take after the top up for the Home Office to consider the application again? Has anybody else experienced such a delay before? Thank you.

The standard processing time is 8 weeks and UKVI is unlikely to have started processing your application before receiving the full payment

Thanks manci. So, you mean 8 weeks from the day the top up was made? It is after initial consideration (within 8 weeks) that they identified that the ISC payment was not made, which is one of the eligibility requirements for 20 mandatory points. Thus they have classified the application as complex and the service level agreement does not apply now. My doubt is usually how long does it take for them to reconsider the application once the top up is made - as you said would it be 8 weeks? I’ve read in the CW guidance that they are supposed to defer the case for 10 days to allow for the payment to be made, but it has been more than 20 days now since.
