Citizenship Application & Old passport

Hi all

Can someone please confirm aside from the current passport do I also need to submit the original of the expired passport which holds all the stamps since arriving to Ireland or would colour copies of the expired passport suffice?

Reading from the application form sounds like I need to submit both passports?

I’ve emailed citizenship for advise but could be waiting for a long while to get a reply

It’s explicitly clear on the application form. You must submit *all* of your passports since you arrived in Ireland. Copies are not acceptable.

Adult (UK/EU/EEA/Swiss) via Residency
IDENTIFICATION
• Original of current Passport
• Certified copy of all other Passports held by you during the residency period
• Photocopy of the biometric page of current passport and all used pages
• Certified copy of your original civil Birth Certificate
• Certified translation of your original civil Birth Certificate if it is not in English or Irish
• 2 colour passport photographs taken within 30 days of the date of application
• Photographs must be signed and dated on the back by the witness who signs the statutory declaration
• Non-UK/EU/EEA: Copy of your current Immigrant Registration Card (GNIB/IRP card)
