Retained right to reside

Post by yer6 » Wed Jul 14, 2021 11:50 am

Hi everyone,

I have applied for the settled status under the retained right to reside route on 01/06/2021. I have received an e-mail with the application number on the day, and that's it, no response for 45 days now. I have tried to contact the resolution center but they have sent a copy-paste e-mail saying wait. I believe I should receive COA letter so far. Anyone else in the same boat?

How long you waited for the COA?
How long it took the whole process?
Did your caseworker request further evidence and what was it? etc...

I will appreciate it if you could share your experiences.

That email should have a PDF file in attachment called "COA [dd month yyyy].pdf", e.g. "COA 01 June 2021.pdf". That PDF file is your CoA. Is it not there?

Hi Kamoe,

Unfortunately, it was not there. I have double-checked my pre-settlement application and what I have noticed they follow 3 steps.

1- They send an e-mail first to confirm the application and generate your UAN (unique application number).

2- Same day they have sent a separate e-mail for COA letter.

3- 1 day after my pre-settled status letter.

This time only the first e-mail, no update since...

* UPDATE - I could manage to contact the resolution center over the phone finally. They said wait... I will keep updating everything here in case someone could benefit.

Ok process might be different for retained rights, then. Patience is the key. Keep us posted!

My experience so far:

Applied on 22/02/21, Biometric on 22/03/21
COA on 15/04/21
Submitted documents: Absolute Decree
Caseworker requested my ex wife’s valid passport/ID

01/07/21 received another COA status link, that allows me to share code with work, rent a property, claim benefits, travel in and out of country etc

But still waiting for my settled status 🤞🏿

Hi Don 147

Just one question; Why the caseworker requested your ex wife’s valid passport/ID when you already provided her UAN unique Number. I presumed you linked her UAN number during your application.

@Kamoe: Can you please share your knowledge.
No ex wife passport/ID needed when you can link the UAN number?

Thanks

Hi,
I didn’t link her UAN with mine because we’ve divorced and she had already left the country finally.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if I can bring my new spouse with the family visa while I am holding the pre-settled status from my former EU spouse? Or I won’t be able to sponsor until I get the settled status?

Many thanks

You need to hold settled status first.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to update here that today I have received the Settled Status under retained right to reside after 4 months from the application. Documents I have provided as above in my previous posts. They have not asked for further evidence or I haven’t been contacted by the Home Office during this period. I wish you all good luck with your applications!

Application date: 01/06/2021
COA: 15/07/2021
Granted: 06/10/2021

Congratulations for your status, happy for you.

I have questions for you, if you don't mind helping please.

1- when did you get married? and how long were you married for?
2- and after how long were you qualified for the settle status?
3- I have seen the lists of the documents you provided (You have not shown that you were married for 3 years?)
4- You have applied through the app by filming/downloading's all the documents you have mentioned above?

Thank You
