ADVICE NEEDED: family member of EU wanting to live in UK

Post by SouthMan » Wed Dec 01, 2021 11:26 am

Hi,

I applied 2 times for a UK permit as a family member (under my niece who is a professional in the UK).
1) I applied for the EU family permit (2020): I got refused, I appealed and it was also refused.
2) Then I applied for the EU settlement scheme family permit (2021): I got refused because I was told that I'm not under the ''family member category''. Being an uncle of an EU national doesn't fall under family member.

Has anyone applied as an uncle of their niece and got a permit? My whole family is in the UK and I want to be with them.

I would like some advice on which route I can take to apply?

Thanks in advance

You don't qualify under the EU route as the uncle if a niece

You would have to find your own visa that you qualify for (student visa, skilled worker visa ancestry etc).
