And within 48 hours of him contacting the HO, we have our ceremony invite letter.

Strongly encourage you to contact your MP.

Website does now say it takes upto 6 months, so if its been over 6 months grt in contact.

Don't be asking for an outcome, just ask that you would like a update as the process doesn't allow this.
