Financial requirement

Post by sshah20 » Sat Feb 04, 2023 2:50 pm

Hi all,

i am asking on behalf of my sister. she is currently residing in Pakistan along with 3 children her husband is British citizen and live in the UK. out of 3 children two were born before the father got British citizenship and one born after father got UK citizenship. she has already applied for the son first overseas British passport and is in the process at the moment. she is now in the process of filling application for herself and remaining two children to join her husband in the UK.
after filling the application form online she has been told the financial requirement is £18600 but she already mentioned in her application that the 3 children will also travel and join the father. i know the son who born after his father nationality has no financial requirement but the other two has financial requirement as they are not British citizen. but the online application says financial requirement is £18600 which is just for herself.

Does this mean that two children will fill separate application?

Many thanks in advance for the help

She needs to complete 3 separate applications for 3 applicants.

Thanks for the quick reply. You mean one for herself and two for the children.

Non British children have to pay ihs, they are not exempt. They will be contacted by email to make the payment at some point.

If the children were born after the parent was naturalised, they are British citizens by descent and hence free from IHS (and of course the need to apply for a visa).

If the children were born before the parent was naturalised, they need a visa AND need to pay the IHS.

Topics merged. 2 of the children born before naturalisation.
