Overstay and eGates

Post by naeemU360 » Fri Dec 08, 2023 4:58 pm

All,

I overstayed my UK visitor visa in 2006 by 4 months. That time I was an Pakistani National only. I was not deported and I left the UK voluntarily. My passport was not stamped. Now I am planning to come to UK for visit in 2024 for 3 days. This time I will be using eGate because now I am a US citizen. Do you think there will be any immigration problems .

What does the application ask for?
Previous applications with dates?

Sorry missed that you are travelling with US passport. Shouldn’t be an issue.

I don't think OP is applying for a visa, as US citizens don't need it for tourism.

OP not applying for a visa. Asking about potential issues using e-gates to enter on US passport.

Your name and date of birth will match to that of your previous nationality so it will flag BUT only if you were subject to removal action back in 2006.

Being a US citizen does not exclude you from immigration control it just moves the entry process to the port of entry to the U.K. Your previous immigration history regardless of a change of citizenship remains with you.

If you want to absolutely be sure of entry apply for a visa.
