From UK Work Permit to Tier 2 (Sportsperson) Trans C

Post by delboyt46 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:54 am

Hi,

I have an employee whose work permit finishes at the end of October 2009.

As an employer we are obtaining our Sponsor Licence. When should he apply for a PBS Tier 2 ? Is it 28 days before the end of October 2009.

Should we send it off earlier? Looked through all the paperwork and internet but could not find the answer? Not sure if six weeks? or earlier?

You need to be registered as a sponsor first. then when you are you can issue him with a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship. Then he can lodge his Tier 2 General form (a massive form with over 50 pages) and his passport and photos. He cannot lodge without a Certificate of Sponsorship first. The earliest he can lodge his passport etc is 6 weeks before expiry of his stay. The latest is on the day of expiry.

So to clarify-after our firm gets its Sponsor Application Confirmed we then fill in the 50 page form with our sponsor number on it.

We get the 'Certficate of Sponsorship' with our sponsor number.

The 50 page form is incredible (massive) along with the dependants forms.Lots of paper but not alot of information.Similiar to old (IED) forms but more trees used.
