TIMELINE AFTER NATURALISATION APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Hello,

Now I have got my naturalisation certificate and i am going to appy for british passport which migh take around 3 weeks.

Meanwhile i will have to travel abroad, can i travel now with my native country passport till i get british passport?

can some one please calrify?

Absolutely fine a long as you haven't surrender you previous (native country) passport.

I have applied on 29th July and still waiting, there are other applied after 17th July and their applications are already processed.
- rkudum (page 91) applied on 28/07/09 Invitation Letter received on 02/09/2009.
- northumboy (page 90) applied on 27/07/09 nvitation Letter received on 01/09/09.

I think application filled end July are currently in process and would be getting an approval letter within this week, finger crossed.
Thanks very much, momo247m. I wonder how the applications are dealt with in Liverpool. I presume it is by surname. My surname starts with letter "Z", and I guess mine will be the among the last to be processed. The reason why I am so anxious is on this forum, there are people who waited for 4 months or more, and I always feared that I could be be one of them. We have all waited for years and years, and my patience is running out, at this very last leg of the journey.

It would be interesting to find out what the first letters are for the surnames of momo247m, rkudum, and northumboy

Guys, I finally received the approval letter - took Home Office 24 days to consider the application, but another 14 days for the letter to arrive! But I don't think the delay was casued at the Home Office, as there has been a postal strike in my area.

I was lucky to get a place in the Citizenship Ceremony for next week, as the council holds it once a week.

Many thanks for everyone who has shared information and given each other encouragement in this forum! I will always look back these waiting days with lots of gratitude towards every one of you!

Hi firstly- congrats to you both(Hollow and Romeo9) as your journey to citizenship is nearing its end. May I just ask if you applied with/out any dependant? And Romeo which criteria were you under?

Is it possible to add in the itemised info if the poster applied individually or with family(dependants?)- It might help those who are awaiting results if we could see if there's a longer wait if it's with a dependant or it is treated just as an individual application.

It appears they send out letters every Wednesday with Tuesday as their cutt-off. So if your decision is made on a Wednesday it will take at least one week for you to receive your letter . My decison letter was dated Wednesday the 12th August and I did not receive it until Friday the 21st. The decision date for someone else on this forum was made on Tuesday, the 11th August ( just a day before mine) and the letter was received on the 15th August. Yours appear to follow the same pattern.
