Raynes, I received a similar letter - the only difference was that they did tell me that my application was approved. I got the documents about 2 weeks after the letter. You should hear soon, it wont be too long. All the Best!

Devonian, you will be allright. It wont take 2 years, just looking from the previous posts with regards to the 10 year category, it could be anything from 4-6 months. All the best.

Thank you for your reply, Tintin. I cannot understand why they didn't let me know the result straight away. The term 'shortly' they meant is 2 weeks!!! I really regret that I didn't use the premium service.

Hi all

I sent my ILR ( Set O ) work permit 5 years on the 1st of March . It was recieved /acknowledged on the 2nd and payment was taken on the 5th. I didn't hear anything until last week when I recieved a letter saying the application is valid but it has been sent to another case worker unit for further enquiries. This is after waiting for 8 weeks. Has anyone else had a similar letter? How long does it take for these enquiries?
I would appreciate any feedback as I am getting desperate and wished I had gone in person.

Thanks in advance,
Tracy

Tracey, was there anything complex with your application forexample excessive absences, any motoring offences, periods of redundancies?

if everything was straight forward then just relax, you will be ok.

My case is also quite similar, but hadn't heard anything after the acknowledgement letter of acceptance of application. The timelines are as follows

1. Application posted on 27th Feb10
2. Application delivered on 1st Mar10
3. Payment taken on 8th Mar10
4. Acknowledge letter received on 9th March (letter dated 3rd March10)

I have 6 yrs WP + 3 months of Tier2 when applied. Single employer, no excessive absence. Its a strainght forward case, but don't know why its taking so much of time. What should be the usual timeline? I'm now into 10 weeks......God knows how much time it will take??

No I have not left the country for five years . No offences. I did change employer once and then changed location in company due to restructuring .

I've got the passports back today along with retrospective ILR letters.

My timeline for ILR based on HSMP JR (me + 3 dependants):

Sent my postal application SET (O): 20/03/2010
Received at Home Office: 22/03/2010
Acknowledgement letter dated 22/03/2010 and recvd 23/03/2010
Deducted fees on 22/03/2010
ILR stamped on 06/05/2010

Passports received back on 10/05/2010 with individual letters for the retrospective ILR.

All in all...6 weeks

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for a decision! next step...Life in UK test

Received my ILR

Post by krisanj » Mon May 10, 2010 7:30 pm

My wait for ILR and passport is over. Received my passport today. Timeline for the processing

Solicitor filed application in Croydon : 10/03/2010.
Application was taken as postal due to some "LIVE APPLICATION" pending against my name
ILR stamped on 06/05/2010

Passports received back on 10/05/2010

Took agonising 8 weeks, since expected processing to be done within a day.

Could anyone give me a glimpse of hope???
I sent my ILR things on 24/04 and I still havent received any confirmation whether it was received or not. Im deadly worried....
Rang HO yesterday and all they told me was that I need to contact post office
and through them see whether the package was delivered. To make matters worse, I think I lost a slip with ref number for special deliveries; anyways, Ive hard feeling that it came to them (special delivery/would be returned if undelivered) but its been like more than 2 weeks now and Ive no clue what is goin on

Anyone had a similar experience, pls?!?!?

Hi,

You are right, if its delivery failure (logically which shouldn't happen) the whole package should be returned to you. However, I think its safer if you can manage the special delivery number (13 character reference) from the post office from where you have booked the package. This is also essential for any future enquiry/ reference & its a proof which can be used as the need be. All guaranteed next day delivery also carries a minimum insurance of £500 (I belive) & by using the number you can check the delivery status from the royal mail web site (track & trace --- follows this link http://track.royalmail.com/portal/rm/tr ... gear=track).
I hope it helps. Please try to arrange the tracking number.

I am getting worried as this is about the 3rd/4th time I have read of someone sending their application in, after my husband sent his, and then receiving their ILR status and passport back within weeks.. I have a feeling our application is lost somewhere.. :( :(

Hi

I got my documents today with a refusal as I have not spent continuous 5 years because my first work permit was curtailed after a year even though I was in continuous employment with the new employer who had transfered it .
Anyone with a similar experience! I can't appeal as the I have leave to stay still .What do i do now .Can I write to the case worker by email ? I heard someone mention in earlier messages that you can find the email from the names . how does that work ? Is it just the initial and the surname? Please advice as I am quite upset.

Regards
Tracy

hi,

i wanted to know how long does it take for UKBA to deliver passports back to you. I applied for ILR, they sent a letter asking me to come to UKBA to confirm my identity. There the officer said my passport would arrive within a week. its been 7 working days now. each time i call they say you have to wait for it in the post. any idea how long it takes??
