My mother handed her passport to BHC on 29th Sep after appeal allowed. Has any one any idea how long will it take before we get passports back. Is it worth reminding Dubai office off and on to expedite the matter. Many thanks.

Hi ccyrex

I see you first applied 3 months before my husband so I understand your frustration.

The waiting times are so long at the moment because I think so many people are hoping to get their visas before the rules change and the english tests are introduced.

I wish you well and hope you receive your visa soon.

Good Luck
:D

Hi Scan_me

I'm fine thanks and you?

Hubby submitted passport on 22nd September but we haven't heard anything yet.

I suppose we join the queue with everybody else waiting for a stamped passport and I've heard some are taking up to 16 weeks now.

I'm still praying he can be here before the end of the year.

I will let you know as soon as we have any news.

:)

Wow Fatima that is excellent and must be one of the fastest stampings I have seen on this forum.

Which office did you use?

Congratulations :D

Just had a horrific thought.... what if the Call in Letter is delivered to the wrong address/house by the mailman? This is not uncommon in Pakistan.

Due to the fact that there seem to be no time limits on the receipt of this letter, one keeps waiting in hope and anticipation. There is no other alternative or number to call to find out the latest update and all emails to UKBA give you a generic response. One may be waiting for 6 months or more when the letter has already reached its destination!

didnt you give an email address, if you did then they would have emailed you when to submit your passport. maybe send them an email and say that you would prefer contact that way as the postal system is bad in Pakistan. thats what we did.

mrsahmed,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, we did give an email address in the appeal form but have not received anything yet.

I did send an email to the following addresses but received generic answers telling me to wait and that I will hear from them in due course:

UKHUB.PakistanSettlementEnquiriesandComplaints@fco.gov.uk
ukvisasection.pakistansettlementenquiries@fco.gov.uk
visaenquiries.abdhabi@fco.gov.uk
STE.UKHUB@fco.gsi.gov.uk

It has been 10 weeks since the decision was overturned and we have not heard anything since....

if you have recieved a response whether its a generic one or not, no doubt you will recieve an email when to submit your passport. 10 weeks isnt that long. dont worry to much!

ASA Tasawar and mrsahmed,

We had the decision overturned after 3 and a half months from the time we submitted our appeal papers.

I realize that 10 weeks is not that long a time but our journey started with a settlement visa application in July, 2009 so it has been a year and a half since we have been waiting!

Application for my wife and 2 year old son submitted in July, 2009
Visa issued in Nov and Dec 2009 respectively
Daughter born in Karachi in Nov, 2009 during visa waiting process
Applied for daughter's visa in March, 2010 (delay in application since daughter's passport, birth certificate had to me made. My mom also passed away in Karachi)
Daughter's visa refused in May, 2010
Appealed in June, 2010
Decision overturned in Sep, 2010
Waiting for Call Letter

So that's our story. Now, the concern is that if UKBA takes their own sweet time to get back to us, my daughter and son's visa runs the risk of expiry!
