Me and my husband got our visa approval today. Thanks for all of you who provide useful information.

1. Category changing (switching) from - PSW tier-1
2. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) - 2nd March 2011
3. Date application posted - 3rd February 2011 via post
4. Date payment debited - 10th feb 2011
5. Date acknowledgment and biometric letter is received - 16th feb
6. Payment mode - Debit card
7. Date leave to remain valid from - waiting for BRP, but I think it'll be 4th March 2011 to 4th March 2013
8. Date of biometric enrollment, since we were main and dependent, we had to wait for the appointment - 1st March
9. Date passport / BRP received - 16th March - received passport and a letter saying visa is approved, still waiting for BRP card which will be received in 7 days.

* Letter to UKBA requesting expedited process of application faxed to 2 different numbers 1st letter on the 5-Apr, 2nd letter on 12-Apr

Update:
I have finally received my passport and the Tier 1 visa (23 May received passport, 25 May received Biometrics card). I had sent in my application on the 17-Feb and had given my first biometrics details on the 26-Feb at the Earls Court post office. What i'd found out was that UKBA had NO RECORD of that biometrics test and it wasn't until I faxed them to expediate the process that they sent me a second request for biometrics data. Basically they had LOST the initial data.
So I suggest to all applicants that once they have done the biometrics test to send a fax to UKBA letting them know they you given your biometrics details. Else your application is just going to sit there for 2 months with nothing being done as UKBA don't seem to contact anybody.
The fax numbers i used were 01142072536 and 02081963248.
