SOLVIT UK strikes again...useless

Post by skele » Thu Apr 07, 2011 4:23 pm

SOLVIT UK have once again passed their 10 week deadline without bothering to find a solution.

I am exercising my treaty rights, living and working in France with my third country national husband who has a one year residence card instead of the five years required by EU law.

I received a message from SOLVIT today after informing them that their deadline had passed to solve this problem telling me that SOLVIT have a choice when their deadline passes to close the case unresolved or carry on trying to find a solution!!!!

I was stunned that it is that simple, that they just close cases unresolved and forget about them!!

What is the point in SOLVIT? They are not only incompetant but have no power and no worth whatsoever!!!

The problem is the residence card which is a mandatory five year residence card according to the EU. The French have given my husband a one year card and told him that he'll have to go back every year.
Their excuse being that their computer systems have not been updated and will only do a one year or ten year card.
I find this unacceptable, again they are not complying with the law. If I as a citizen am accountable to the law then governments should be too.
The French authorities lie and obstruct rights under the EU at every turn, it's disgraceful.

I would strongly suggest you complain to the European Commission. http://ec.europa.eu/eu_law/your_rights/ ... rms_en.htm

This is only after you have complained to the European Commission and they have done nothing.

the commission insist that these matters are single occurring events, at least that's what they email you, even when skele and I (and another of our friends) sent the same emails to the commission each quoting each others "chap" number, as each of us had experienced exactly the same things

now tell me that its a single occurance?

the commission seem to have taken to no longer even replying to emails?

the ombudsman is no better, no reply there ~ 2 months and counting.....

and Skele's favourite ~ Solvit ~ UK solvit agrees with everything the french dream up, until confronted by emails from "your europe"
