Work Permit for a US parent of a Portuguese citizen dependen

Hello,

I have a ten year old daughter who has Portuguese citizenship (through her father). I was never married to her father so I could not apply for this. What I wanted to ask is if there is temporary status that I could apply for so that my daughter could go to school in Portugal. Obviously I would need to work. Does anyone know if this is possible???
