TAX to be paid by the employer <Urgent>

Post by neerantor » Thu Jun 02, 2011 5:51 am

Hello Everyone!
Greetings,

I am going to apply for Tier 2 ICT, and will be paid per-diem in UK and a salary drawn out side UK.
I want to know If my employer has to pay any TAX during my stay there in UK. My tentative stay in UK is less than 12 months.
If there are any taxes how much are they. Any document or link to an official website would be a real help.

Your help is much appreciated.

That might depend upon the terms of a Double Taxation Agreement. So which country would you be coming from?

Also "less than 12 months" .... how much less than 12 months?

Thank you John for responding. I did not know about double taxation thing earlier. By the way I will come from India and my stay will be 11 months to be precise. Any other input will really be appreciated.

If you're going to be employed in the UK for the 11 months surely you need to be paying UK tax & national insurance.

Double taxation would (probably; if India has an arrangement with the UK) save you from paying the tax again in India.

Since you are coming for more than 6 months tenure.
As per the current UK rules I think only a part of your total Salary component is taxable.
Even if you need to pay tax it'll be paid by your company.
There is nothing to worry about.
Ask them to consult their Tax consultant
They might be interested to know your overall salary in GBP.
I mean (Perdiems+house rent+Salary).
There is a Dual Tax Agreement rule in place but the Tax consultants would be aware of that.
