Can I make Tier 1 exten app while ILR under 10yr pending

I am due to apply ILR under 10 yr long residency however my Tier 1 extension is also due in 2 months time. My question is Will I be able to make a fresh Tier 1 extension application in 2 months time while ILR application is pending with HO. It just to keep myself safe if I don't get ILR...at least will get Tier 1 extension otherwise i may loose my right to apply for this as ILR decision minght take 26 weeks.

Your advise in this matter will be much appreciated.
