Tier 1 - PSW Dependant maintainance

Post by ahsanhoney123 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 8:40 pm

Hi,

I have a PSW expiring in February 2013. I am employed full-time as a Finance Manager.

My wife has a PSW till July 2014. I will be depending on her.

I am very confused on how much funds do I need to maintain for this application. Although it is very straightforward in UKBA guidance that either myself or my wife need to show £600 for 90 days prior to application, but a solicitor told me that my wife also need to show additional £900 for my dependant application.

On UKBA website, it states that £900 for 90 days is required for the Tier 1 PSW application and £600 for Tier 1 PSW dependant application.

Is my solicitor mixing it up or do I really require both.

I request my friends on this site to help me out of this dilemma.

Thank you

He's completely incorrect so you should look elsewhere for a competent professional. Only a person who is making an application needs to show a maintenance requirement. Only you are applying (your wife is not making an application) so only you need to have held funds for 90 days. Will you employer hold you job open while you are outside the UK making the application?

Tier 1 - PSW Dependant maintainance

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I do not have good relation with my employer, so I really don't know what he is going to say, but I have employment contract and all payslips to show that I am currently employed on £22,000 per annum. Will this help?

Thanks again.
