Sorry to hear about ur situation

It seems odd. But the problem is that, if you contact them through email, they may still come up with '6 months' defence. Did you contact them at 08450105200 or email FurtherNationalityEn@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk?

Are the spellings in ur child's Birth certificate and your original documents (i.. passport) match?

If I were you, i would write a letter to the same address (Special Delivery) ,email and then be patient for couple of weeks.

YES, i have called on above number and but there are only 2 options:
Less than 6 months then press 1
More than 6 month then press 2

I pressed 1 and electronic message played was ...we cannot give any further information before 6 months.

even UKBA site says that average time is 6 months.

Yes my both kids born and have never changed there names or spellings.

Question is then whats the benefit of "Nationality checking service" if it is stuck due to such silly mistakes?

I have no idea or clue , what is happening at all. Very surprised.

Is there any possibility that somehow my letter is lost in post? can i check with royal mail without any reference or card which they usually drop?

Any great idea to handle or even understand this situation?

Thanks.

On Above Average, everyone got response within 35 days. I wonder what happened in my case? Specially this is just for kids.

Any suggestion what to do?

Thanks.

hello mate,
I am in the same boat. I applied using NCS on 28th October for my little one who is 8 months old now. They asked for some documents which I sent to them straight away but haven't heard anything back since then. It will be 4 months tomorrow (28th Feb)

May be you can try contacting NCS through which you applied. They may contact UKBA to find out status.

BIG Question is, if one has applied using "Nationality Checking Service" and even then documents are missing then whats the purpose and benefit of NCS?

Isn't its STRANGE?

wHY dont U discuss all of these in a separate thread instead of this thread? Otherwise, this thread will lose it's importance. If you discuss here, it is very hard to check the time limit at a glance and someone needs to avoid/discard the discusstion step by step which is time consuming. People come here to get a rough general idea/Guide of timeliness.

This is not hard to make a separated new thread for discussion.

Yes it is not at all hard to create new thread
but
As you said people come here to get general idea of timeliness and i think this is related information which might be helpful for someone if not for ALL?

Regards.

Looks like sending docs yourself turns out quicker than using ncs in the end.

i sent them an email yesterday asking for progress. Here is an exempt to what I got back from them.

"As stated on the auto-response, the Nationality Progress mailbox is only able to provide progress updates once an application has been with us for more than 6 months.

Your application was received on 30/10/2012, so this application is still with in our 6 month service standard - for this reason I am unable to provide a progress update at this time.

We aim to process 95% of applications within 6 months, although this does not guarantee that this case will be processed within 6 months – some applications do take longer. There is no maximum processing time, we will take as long as we need to ensure the decision we make is correct.

When the decision is made, or if we require further information from you, we will contact you in writing, for this reason please make sure you notify us promptly if you change your address. Your address can be updated here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... y-details/

If you require any documents back, these can be requested here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... documents/. Requesting documents will not negatively impact on the application.
Yours Sincerely,

Ross Hutchinson | Customer Service Advisor"

needless to say I have replied to Mr Ross with the following and I await a reply

"Dear Ross,

I understand the application is under 6 months but could I ask why is it taking that long to progress. The reason I say is because I follow an immigration forum and most people are getting documents and decision back within 1 month and in this case it has taken over 4 months.

You can find out about that on here >> http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... &start=160

Also, I am not convinced with your statement that "there is no maximum processing time", can you elaborate that for me specially when a large amount of fee has been paid for the service.

I look forward to your reply."

Hi Innocent Devil,

Any further news so far?

In my case both reference are my Asian friends but of course British now and i have not asked for registered post for reply - which needs some 3-4 pound additional cost and i am cursing myself.

What it is in your case?

Thanks.

i have not received any contact whatsoever at all from lazy scumbags up till now. I have already contact my MP. Regardless of registered post or not, it is their job to post it so it should get to you eventually thats if they posted it.

I am going to chase my MP again today to see if there's any progress at all.
