@HSMP9999
I was out of the country for about 3 weeks and when I came back I noticed I have not received any general post. Was just wondering if there are any issues with mail deliveries
Its quiet strange not to have any sort of mail for weeks.

I am, although I applied at the tail end of March so still very early to receive an approval.

I think we have to be patient. It hasn't even been 8 weeks since start of March to date.

yes you are right, we have to be patient.
I was doing analysis based on the timeline people have mentioned in this forum and have noticed that majority of the application gets approved within 8 - 12 weeks.
Only few could take a bit longer and some lucky ones takes very quick..So thinking along these lines, it will come through eventually without worrying too much.

I'm still waiting for my decision also. Straight forward EEA national, 5 years PR + 1 year.

I applied on the 13th March, but they did not debit my payment for 2 and a half weeks.

We just have to be patient. It seems that spouse applications get processed as a priority.

Guys, I know the wait can be gruesome when compared to some speedy turnarounds but remember that anything up to 12 weeks is within quick service standards.

It may be that certain references need to be scrutinised more than others, delayed background checks reliant on the cooperation of external organisations e.t.c.

Easier to be said but try to take your mind of it. Who knows, this week might yield some fruit! I'll keep checking in to read of more successes.

Hi, this application was for my husband...

Eligibility criteria: ILR (married to BC)
Method of application: NCS Hatfield
Date of application: 22/03/13 (not sent till 25/03/13)
Date of receipt by UKBA: 05/04/13 - letter dated (letter received on 09/04/13)
Date of debit of fees: 11/04/2013
Date of acknowledgement : TBC
Date of approval: TBC

I wish everyone the best! I know how nail biting the waiting process can be.

awaiting and wanting to request passport

Post by ih2013 » Mon Apr 22, 2013 2:55 pm

Is anyone able to comment on the below:
Will the application be invalidated should I ask for the passport back while the application is in process? As far as I read the request isn't recommended. On another had they also say that 'only the document holder can request the document back, unless it is a withdrawal of an application in which case the main application should make the request. I am after my son's passport as we have a trip end of May that we need to take. My son is only 11 years old, he isn't in a position to ask for his passport. Am I to understand that if I ask for it is going to be considered withdrawn?

Upon receipt of the acknowledgement letter I have tried to ring them on the number provided, but unfortunately there isn't possible to speak to an advisory, there is always reference to a website. I am not quite sure why the number is in the letter.

Your swift reply it is mostly appreciated.

Best regards,

IH

Yippee! If you do not mind me asking, why a private ceremony? Were there no early slots for a public one?

The earliest slot on 21/5/2013 and I will be out of the UK by that date, that's why I had to go for the private one

I imagine that larger/denser boroughs have longer waiting times than others. Well, savour your ceremony on Friday.
