Post by smkengr » Mon Aug 12, 2013 3:23 pm

Dear Team

I came in UK in 27 Sep 2007 and got my ILR on 29 Aug 2012. Can I apply for naturalization on 30 Aug 2013?
Also whats normal processing time?
Thanks.

smkengr,

Make sure you were in the country exactly 5 years before 30th Aug 2013 and that you meet the rest of the requirements.

Normal processing time is anything upto 6months. If you do not have any convictions you might get it in 3 to 4 weeks too.
Good luck.
cheers

Does that mean I should be physically present in UK on 30th Aug 2008? What if I was out of UK for holidays on this specific date?
I was on and off out of UK for holidays which I mentioned in ILR form as well and those days were less than 180.

Thanks.

If you're not in the UK at the critical time, you'll be rejected.

Thanks for replying but don't understand what do you mean by critical time?

My understanding - if you apply via NCS on Friday 30 August, UKBA will receive your application on Monday 2nd September (assuming no delivery on Saturday)

This means - you should have been physically present in the UK on 3rd September 2008.

Also, you should have been granted ILR on 3rd September 2012 or earlier.
