Congrats peacock, it would be interesting to know if you local authority has your certificate; if they do; that probably means that the IT issue has been resolved. Could you let us know when you find out?

That would be good news; is EMO a forum member? do you have his/her time line?

I read his posts and it seems like he wrote approval letter 22/08/2013, but it wasn't clear if that's the day he received it or the day it was dated; someone asked him to clarify; do you know if he did?

Good shout; if they let him book an appointment for the ceremony; I guess they already have his/her certificate; otherwise, i think they would have told me that they don't have the certificate.

It sounds like good news :)

Hi all - not sure if this info helps you but I am in the August timeline and noticed that some of the other August people have received letters dated in August (acknowledgement letters only though). Hopefully this means the HO is able to print letters ok.

Hope this info helps!

That's the standard acknowledgement letter, but they don't seem to be sending out many decision letters, if any at all.... I get the impression, we are in for a long wait.....

Hi all,

I am very happy to let you know that I received an invitation letter for citizenship ceremony from the council today dated 23/08/2013. I haven't received an approval letter from UKBA yet so I was surprised when I opened the envelope. The council have already arranged a date for me to attend the citizenship ceremony which is 4th September. I am thinking of changing the ceremony date to a later day so my friends can come. It is too soon.

My timeline is as follows: (Turkish citizen)
Date of application (NCS Chelmsford): 11/07/2013
Date on the acknowledgement letter: 16/07/2013
Date of debit of fees: 22/07/2013 (paid by cheque)
Date of approval: Don't know as I didn't receive approval letter yet.
Date of invitation later from the council: 24/08/2013 dated 23/08/2013
Date of citizenship ceremony: 04/09/2013

I am over the moon. I hope all of you guys receive your approvals soon.

Yeah, that means that they are able to enter decisions onto the system again and they are approving July applications now....

The weird thing is that he got the invitation from the council, but no approval from the HO; I guess if the NCS has invited him; it means they got the naturalisation certificate, which means the HO approved it.... so probably no need to contact the HO....

IT issue resolved

Post by Derivaz » Sat Aug 24, 2013 5:30 pm

OK folks

The HO issues in dispatch are now resolved and that has only delayed the sending of documents and correspondence, but not the actual process; so theoretically, that means that they should be sending a lot of decision letters shortly....

Let's see what happens....

If anyone receives their decision letter, please, post the timeline here.

Cheers

theoretically, yes; but sometimes the HO and logical behaviour doesn't seem to go together haha

Let's see.... for the moment there aren't any posts from people who got their letter.

Yeah, let's see this week; if we don't see several letters for July applicants; we can say that the process is slower now....

Hi Everyone,

I received a letter on 23rd July from HO saying my application was successful and I should receive an invitation letter within 2 weeks. It's over a month already and I still didn't receive it. I sent them two emails regarding my case but I didn't receive any answer. There is no valid phone number. Could you please help me, what should I do now?

Many thanks

I would contact the NCS and ask them if they have your certificate there; maybe the HO sent you the letter but it got lost; if the NCS has it, maybe they can send you an invitation letter or ask the HO to do it.

Good luck
