Expired passport

Post by Arsal9 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:51 pm

I have an appointment booked with NCS on 13/09/13 for naturalization application.
My ILR application was approved on 13/09/2012.

1- Do I have to wait for 1 more day to complete 12 months after ILR?

2- I also realized after making a booking that my current passport has expired in may 2013. Can I still apply with this passport?

Regards

1. No
2. Yes but you have to show some proof that you were actually here in UK in the time between May and September. This proof could be Payslips etc. Your passport wouldn't be accepted as proof for the time between May and September as it was expired in that time.

Sorry to hijack your thread,

Just want to ask if a child's passport has expired and is applying for citizenship, will the child need to prove residency.

Well this depends if the child application requires to prove residency.

See Q2 in Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - children.

Thanks Jambo, read the Q2, just bit more clarification on situation.

Child is 13 and has lived in UK for 5 year, born abroad, passport expired May 2013, applying for citizenship with parents, will UKBA ask for proof of residence between May 2013 and now for the child as they ask for adult applying with expired passport.

Thanks.
