Applied in January - No update yet

Hi All
I applied on jan 10th 2014 and done my bio-metrics on 18th jan and then On 24 th I received a letter from ukba saying the decision may take 8 weeks and until now there is no update. Wat could be the possible reason.

You probably will hear something before 10th of march. your 8 weeks will complete on 10 of March. best of luck.

There are 2 possibilities.

1) you will get approval letter
2) Letter stating that we normally process applications in 8 weeks time but in your case this will not happen and we need to interview you before we make any decision on your application and we will inform you the date and place of interview before 31st of March or April.

Than i received the letter which is given below.Did you receive the same kind of letter?


we decide your application in 8 weeks from the date of submission,unfortunately this is not going to be possible in your case.This is because it is necessary to interview you in connection with your application.Further details including the date time and location of your interview will follow.we expect to make a decision on your application by 31st march.but we will write to you again if this is not going to be possible.All of you are receiving this type of letter.Did they call anybody for interview.What type of interview they are conducting on telephone.Please advice.


I think its a circular.Please update us did you receive the same letter?

No .. Mine does not say anything about the interview..

It is exactly same as the one you receive with bio-metrics letter .. 8 weeks time line.

Inshallah Hopefully you will get the visa by the 10th March.I think Thats the circular which they are sending to every applicant after the biometrics.If you receive any letter please update us on the forum.

Other thing during this period did you receive any call from the unknown numbers and you missed that call.

Nope haven't received any call.. I called UKBA to know the status and they said it is still processing..

Everyone is receiving letter of 8 weeks along with bio metric Letter. But after biometric and 8 weeks letter if your receiving the letter for the interview then they will call you to arrange an interview date and time for sure.
3 Letter you receive normally

1) acknowledgement Letter
2) Biometric Letter
3) 8 weeks decision Letter

Afterward if they are not satisfied with the application they send you another letter saying normally we process application in 8 weeks time but in your case we going to interview you.

so anyone receiving this letter will have to appear for an interview on phone or face to face.

I received a letter after 6 days of biometrics which is stating that normally we decide application in 8 weeks but unfortunately it is not going to be possible in your case and we will write date time and location.is it the normal circular or they will call for interview.What do you suggest.

Personally No.. saw someone posting on form.

@Zeeshan81, No brother if they wrote you this letter there are 99% chances that they will ring you or send you the date and time for the interview face to face. All you need is now to prepare all the questions and get full command on your business activities,Services, Clients, Target Audience of your business and how you approach your clients, business plan and contingency plan if your current business fails.

These are the core questions of interview.

You might hear some news from UKBA this week, i applied on 25th of January & and got my visa on 20th of February.

Hi all, I applied on the 6 jan 2014, funds already invested,
Biometrics, acknowledgment and 8 weeks letter received on the 22 of January
Biometrics don on the 23 of January
Received a letter on the 10 of February from HO asking to see my business account statement which I sent on the 13th and still waiting.

or



(2) an original letter from a UK-regulated financial institution with which the applicant has a business bank account, on the institution’s headed paper, confirming that the business is trading.
