Do I have to apply for a new Indian passport first? My ILR BRP expires in December.

No, you can apply with an expired passport. Note that all BRPs are being phased out and will expire in December.

Naturalisation can take a while, so do make sure you don't plan to travel for a while if you don't plan to renew your Indian passport.

I'm giving it six months-ish - is that reasonable?

it may be, it may not. If you are planning to travel, you should renew your Indian passport. Some applications take longer than six months to be processed and you have to attend the ceremony and obtain a British passport - it isn't necessarily a quick process. Renewing your Indian passport won't have any implication on your citizenship application - you can apply, then renew the passport, no issues.

In the previous applications section, I am not sure I have all the details necessary such as dates of application and dates of fingerprinting. My very first visa application to the UK was in 2005. This current period under which I am applying, the first entry was 2011. Tier 4 to Tier 2 to FLR (m) to ILR. ILR was granted 2019. Now I've absolutely got to do it as my BRP expires in Dec. The application seems to ask for every single visa application I have ever made... This dates back to 2005 and there is an extension in January 2007, which I don't really have any record of. There are also several applications (9 in all maybe) since then and I don't remember the dates of when I got my fingerprints taken for those that were done after fingerprinting started. I've done the best I can with these dates trawling through 3 inboxes but how much do they care if I do not have the dates? There are also some where I don't think I had fingerprints taken but I cannot be sure because in those days they were done at the post office with no email sent and just a normal post office receipt.

Also, is there the possibility of being asked to pay fees and apply again? This is probably my worst case scenario playing out in my head.

It is just to make sure their records are complete - do your best to retrieve details, after all the question states "if known". You did your best to find the information, explain in a cover note you don't remember all details from older applications. Please ask all your questions in only one thread.

Is it worth getting Subject Access Request (30+ days) from Home OFfice or leaving it? I assume they will use the same info in their processing anyway!

A SAR wouldn't be likely to retrieve information older than 10 years.

It is your choice if you want to apply for one and wait for the outcome - as I stated this information is only "if known" and their records can still be incomplete (mine were, a trip or two were missing, so my records were better than what I could see in the SAR). I just wanted to add that your BRP will expire (they are all due to expire at the end of 2024) but your ILR will be accessible as a digital status.

In terms of supplying documents, do I need to take my partner's original passport for the appointment? In my application, my passport has expired although I am still providing it for proof of residence and I am applying with my aadhaar card which is a national ID card. Do I need to send the original aadhaar card and my expired passport also?

You just scan and upload your and partner's current passport and upload with the other documents, national ID card not required. Note no originals are submitted or retained by UKVI. Note the appointment is purely for biometrics, run by UKVCAS (they are not UKVI casworkers).

My passport expired on the 24th of July 2024, so I had to supply another document in the form... it doesn't let you go ahead without it. I guess I can just send a copy of it?[img][/img]

Yes you can just upload both documents and bring them to the biometrics appointment.

I do not know how I am tagging my biometric appointments onto other topics. I was trying not to load all my questions on to one thread so that one person isn't notified all the time and also to use other people in the community with the same issue.

Referee 1 appears to have signed and erroneously written 2023 and written over it. Is this okay? Should I ask them to do another one?

It should be OK as far as it is readable. If it is not OK UKVI will ask you to get another form signed.

No! If you put the liuk reference number in the form then that is all that is needed.

You do NOT need council tax statements. What on earth is the reason you would want to add unnecessary documents?
