Proof for all names and previous divorces necessary?

Post by Degna » Wed Apr 26, 2023 3:58 pm

Hi all together,

I a bit puzzled and ask myself if I really need to give evidence and proof for all my marriages ,before I came to the UK?

I was married and divorced 3x in Germany before I came to the UK in 2017.
In the application, you are asked for all names, you ever had ,but later you are just asked for your last previous marriage.

Do I have to translate all these ,marriage certificates?

Next question:

I had a parking offence ,paid it directly, but I can't remember when it was. Must be more than 3 years ago,...
What to write down?

Thanks for your help!

Hi all together,
Are you applying as spouse of a British citizen?
I a bit puzzled and ask myself if I really need to give evidence and proof for all my marriages ,before I came to the UK?
You are not required to provide proof of everything you state in the application.
I was married and divorced 3x in Germany before I came to the UK in 2017.
In the application, you are asked for all names, you ever had ,but later you are just asked for your last previous marriage.
Fill in what is asked to the best of your knowledge.
Do I have to translate all these ,marriage certificates?
Not required.

Next question:

I had a parking offence ,paid it directly, but I can't remember when it was. Must be more than 3 years ago,...
What to write down? Can be ignored.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you so much for your reply. 💙

No, I apply, while having a Settled Status,as an EU citizen. I'm not married at all anymore, neither to a British, nor a German.

Hi all together,

can anybody tell me,if I need to give a proof, about being divorced 9years ago in my home country Germany?Citizenship application.
And if so,Germany just have as a proof a long script called Scheidungsurteil. It is from court a 5-6 pages long script which ends with the words, that the marriage is legally divorced .

Do I have to translate It?

Thanks for your help.

Do you hold German citizenship?
Do you you have a "Beibehaltungsgenehmigung" for obtaining a third country citizenship, i.e. outside the EU?
