Query

Post by mppune » Sun Dec 19, 2021 5:13 pm

Hello,

I would hugely appreciate if I can get some advise on my query.

I am currently on the skilled visa from employer A, which is valid till Apr-2022.

I am now looking at switching jobs and joining employer B, who will be issuing me with COS shortly (say by 15-Jan latest). Assuming that I am planning to join the new employer from 1st March 2022, I would look at filing my new visa application immediately. Considering that my question was that when can I appear for the for biometric appointments? If I appear for them in say Jan 2022, then I will have 2 sets of BRP valid for 2-3 months? is it allowed?

If anyone can advise any documentation or similar cases, that would be much appreciated.

Also I am assuming that ILR clock will start when started on skilled visa for the first time. Is that correct?

Best regards,
MP

You current visa will be cancelled when a new skilled worker visa is granted.

Tier 2 and skilled worker all counts for 5 years ilr.

Hello,

Thank you for quick revert. So assuming dates below.

Employer A employment end date: 28-Feb-2022
Employer A BRP end date: 30-Apr-2022

Employer B employment start date: 01-Mar-2022
Employer B BRP start date: 01-Feb-2022

So in this case, assuming I get the BRP for employer B with start date from 01-Feb-2022, can I continue to work for employer A on the employer B BRP till 28-Feb-2022?

Best regards,
mp

The start date on the new BRP will be the date when UKVI issues it, not the employment start date with sponsor B, and this has no bearing on continuing to work for sponsor A until the time comes for changing jobs.
