Question about being a director?

Post by sakib12 » Sun Aug 16, 2020 12:11 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,

Hope you are well. I really appreciate the kind support everyone provides in this forum. I have a question and I would really appreciate if Zimba or someone else could answer this. I am applying for ILR for my wife through the five year route. I am showing my salaried employment and rental income for this purpose. There is a question on the form in the finance section " Are you the director of a limited company in the UK?". My situation is that I have just started a company in July, 2020 and I am not relying on income from this company for the application. Therefore, my understanding is that I have to select No for this question as my income is from my employer company and my rental income. My understanding is that you should select yes only if you are showing income from your company sources in which case you have to provide a list documents related to your company required by the home office. However, I am a little confused as to whether I am right? I would really appreciate if someone could confirm this.

It should be replied as "NO" and equally over scrupulously no harm in saying yes whilst adding a covering letter.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Answer NO, as with a YES you will be asked to provide evidence

Dear Zimba and Seagul,

I deeply appreciate your prompt response on this which confirms what I was thinking. I also found this thread on the site which recommends also providing a supplemental statement clarifying matters:

Do you think providing such a statement is a good idea?

Kind regards,
Sakib

Not necessary. It is overcomplicating things. You should NOT assume what UKVI wants, instead you should provide what is asked
