Ready for ILR..but have change of COS

I have sent a letter to Home Office to their Durham post box address,requesting an "Imemediate STOP of processing my ILR application but DESPERATELY AND URGENTLY need to go there in person to collect my ILR application.

How is the best way to go about collecting this from their offices ?

I read that I have to first ring up and make an appointment. But it's a nightmare getting through. I tried a few days ago and almost all the numbers resulted in an automatic voice recording and NOBODY picks up the phone

Please advise.

Sushdmehta might be able to advise better, but as far as I am aware, the public/migrants are unable to go to postal processing offices to collect documents.

Why have you not applied to vary your application per Sushdmehta's earlier advise?

Please advise "HOW" do I go about varying my application ?

Any and all attempts to phone HO and speak to a person is so difficult and near impossible. I know this from trying earlier this week.

If and once I do this, could I just pay the difference in cost from the ILR fee to a Tier 2G Visa fee for myself and my spouse and children ?

That you have voluntarily made your life complicated would be an understatement!.


Why did you send a letter for "immediate stop processing of ILR application"? Who told you to send it to Durham? What if that address is for the payment processing team (which is outsourced)? Or if HO acts on the request ... then there will be no application to vary!! Did you think about it?

You have put yourself in a situation where you now cannot predict what will happen.

You don't mention whether you have received acknowledgment yet, since you last ranted about it. Has the money been debited from your bank / card account?

Whether you need to make a new Tier 2 application or whether you should vary your ILR application depends on the status of your ILR application (withdrawn or in process). And that is now uncertain .... thanks to your "stop everything" letter.
