Appeal sent after 14 days.... what will happen

So we received letter on the 23rd September from HO that the visa application was rejected, but we had the right to appeal. We went to the solicitor on the 25th and said we wanted to appeal, paid our fee etc. She contacted me today to say she had forgotten to submit it, and will submit it today. It ...

Re: How would marriage help?

I married my Egyptian husband in May this year (in Cairo) and we applied for a spouse visa which was granted in 9 days (from lodging at the VAC in Cairo to receiving back at the VAC in Cairo (it was sent to / granted in Abu Dhabi)). We did pay for the priority service (extra £360). My husband also ...

Re: How would marriage help?

If he has a job, and no status here (haven't fully read the thread) then he's exposing his employer to some hefty fines for employing an illegal worker. He is legal, he had a visa and it expired. He has right to work so his employer is fine. It seem to me he was in a durable relationship for more ...

Re: How would marriage help?

As you meet the minimum income level, why haven't you considered marriage and your partner returning to Egypt to submit a spouse visa application from there? Bear in mind that If you married and then submitted an application from within the UK, you wouldn't be in any stronger position than you are ...

Re: How would marriage help?

Yes he has. He was married before, but not for 3 years, to a Polish lady. So it is my understanding that that was under EU rules, and as I am a British citizen he is now applying under immigration rules? He has been in the UK for 11 years. But the HO says that while they accept our relationship is ...

How would marriage help?

My partner has just been refused his visa. We applied via FLR (FP). We have been together over two years, but living together for 1 1/2 years. Our solicitor has said by the time we get to the appeal we will have passed the 2 year deadline so on those grounds we will be fine. He also applied under ...

FLR FP - relationship not working out.

Hi, so my partner and I have submitted the FLR FP form, waiting to hear back from HO. We had a big row last night, and I don't know if we are on the verge of splitting up, or if I need to move out to give us some space. What would happened with regards to the application should either these ...

Re: Why isn't he eligible?

If he was married, then he was automatically her family member . If she was a qualified person or had attained PR during the marriage and the marriage had lasted for at least 3 years, then he may have retained his right of residence and be eligible for confirmation of PR . He may also have attained ...

Re: Why isn't he eligible?

Hi ex wife is Polish. He says he didn't apply as he had a visa that didn't expire until 2014 (amended to 2015). He did not see the point in applying for new visa until that one expired. Now his solicitor says he has to apply for FLR FP with me as unmarried partner as his only option. :?: :?: :?:

Why isn't he eligible?

Hello I have a question about my BFs visa. I don't understand why he is not eligible to apply for ILR and was wondering if someone here could explain it to me? He is Egyptian. He got his visa as the unmarried partner of his ex. They had been living together since 2004. He applied in 2007, as family ...

Re: advice please - which visa?

His visa expires August  If your partner's current visa expires in August, how does the solicitor think you'll meet the 24 month co-habitation period in time to apply for FLR(M)? You say you've only been living together for 18 months. :? That's my concern. He is hoping that by the time the ...

Re: advice please - which visa?

Yes, I earn over that. And so does he.

The solicitor is hoping that by the time the visa is done we will have passed the 2 years living together, but I don't want to risk it.

advice please - which visa?

Hello I am after some advice please. My partner and I have been together for 2 years, living together 18 months. We have talked about getting married soon, but haven't set a date. His visa is due to expire soon. Our solicitor has suggested we do the FLR (M) as an unmarried partner visa. Would there ...
