Re: Duel Citizenship for Hungarian child?

I would do it this way: - first you and your partner and your son get Document Certifying Permanent Residence - then do the Life in the UK and English language tests - then apply for 2 naturalisations (for you and your partner) and registration (for your son) Total cost will be around £4500-£5000, m...

Re: Ceremony

1. The decision letter comes by 2nd class post (brown A5 envelope). Mine came 9 working days after the online status changed to decided. 2. Usually by the time you get your decision letter, the council already has got your papers. 3. On my decision letter (received 24-Nov) it just says to contact t...

Re: Ceremony

Hi, My application got decided on the 24.11.2017 after 2 months ish. Still don't know the outcome. Here is my questions: 1. When do you normally get the letter with your decision? and how does it come ( With your docs back or a letter on its own) 2. When is the council notified so you can book your...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Out of interest, can I ask how many of you did not receive a confirmation e-mail as part of their application and still had their cases decided within less than say 3 months? I never received a confirmation e-mail and it appears that even though my application is super straight forward (EEA PR, sam...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Having applied at the beginning of October, I was not expecting an answer any time soon but a few people with my circumstances have already been approved. Hoping to get something soon but still showing up as 'Awaiting decision' online. Pretty disappointing in my case if like you say, people applyin...

Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

b) The UK is being generous in allowing you to enter the UK with a non-UK passport. Most countries that allow dual citizenship require you to enter the country with their passport (the US and South Africa are two examples that immediately come to mind). Poland is another one that requires to enter ...

Re: ILR BRP impounded at Heathrow two and a half years after naturalisation

Intalex, by having British citizenship you have more privilege than by having ILR/BRP. There is clearly 2 ways on how to proceed in your case - either obtain a British passport or CoE-RoA. As you have refused to give more contextual information, only one thing springs to mind - you want to conceal y...

Re: Children in a private citizenship ceremony!

I've just been though a private ceremony and they did accomodate a 5 and a 3 years olds as well as 1 guest - there was enough space for more guests. The size of the room is usually the factor why they limit the guest numbers, I have been told.

Re: Refused because of wrong (EEA) permanent residence document - worth asking for reconsideration?

Get the right document (DCPR) using the EEA(PR) form, make sure 12 months passed since the date you got the Permanent Residence status - this is written in the decision letter and not on the DCPR blue booklet or sticker, then re-apply. The requirements about DCPR have been pretty clear, you made an ...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Hey Swintooh, you can do one thing. I believe your child application was approved alongside yours. Why not Call the HMPO and inquire about your child's passport, with that you can get a rough idea of things. The council office told me, that in case of family applications (if fully successful) - the...

Confirmation of status as British citizen

One of my kids was born in the UK after we gained the PR status - therefore he is British from birth (actually having dual citizenship). Looking at the silly mistakes HO was doing issuing passports to kids where they weren't eligible, I want to get an official statement that he is British (certifica...

Why didn't you do a combined application in the first place?

Anyway, I've sent letters from school and our GP, but since our application was a family one, there was enough evidence we all live in the UK.

I also spent over £1.700 for my Citizenship , Not sure why you paid this much. It only costs £1282 for citizenship for an adult. No it doesn't. For majority of people it costs significantly more than that to go through the process and gain British citizenship. Let's see what the cost elements can b...

Re: Sign and Change the Imigration Rules

You keep complaining - you had a large choices for Life in the UK test centres, same for the language tests. They are run by private businesses. If you chose badly, well you could have walked away and book the tests somewhere else. You didn't read the requirements, didn't follow VERY SIMPLE instruct...
