I don't think she is eligible for COE

COE is only for someone who is born dual citizen that is one Parent hold British or settled in the UK

I will let experts answer this for you

Actually, there is no need to wait for 5 years long if the OCI holder is previously Indian National. There is another section which states one residing in India for a year can be Indian national again.

I am also in the same situation as you, I don't think Indian HC would create a problem for renewing the passport as long as one parent is holding Indian

Dear All,

I wrote an email to the HCI London asking if the child will loose Indian nationality provided one Parent acquires British and they clarified that Child will not loose Indian nationality as long as one parent is continuing as Indian
