Re: SET M - Spouse

I think you're understanding is correct. All of the income must fall within the financial year(s) being relied on and must still be a source of income at the time of application. So you still need to show you have the cat A income at the time of application, as well as the previous financial year. C...

Re: ILR Proof Of Accommodation

I'm not sure if this helps as slightly different application to yours but our FLR (M) application in 2017 had a similar requirement as what you're saying and gave more detail as to what was required. Our ILR (M) checklist in 2020 only had one sentence (6 letters addressed to us for the past 2.5 year...

Re: Life in the UK test centre not accepting ID

I have a related question please, can we use for the Life in the UK test an ID (which is another valid passport issued by Palestinian Authority), that is different from the Travel Document we use for the ILR application? The reason is that, I am unable to add the other passport into the online ILR ...

Re: British spouse to ILR

You visa expiry is irrelevant What date did you change from a student visa to your first spouse visa? Example: If you got your first spouse visa on 12 March 2015 then your 5 year qualifying period will be completed in 12 March 2020. You would therefore be apply 28 days before that date, i.e. from 1...

Re: Lost Passport after paying for ILR application

I assume a police report and any official letters about your lost and replacement passports from your embassy/home country would be all you can really provide, along with a covering letter to explain what's happened.

a moot (positive) point - at least I'm off work till I get a decision on my visa/status :)))) This could be 6 months or more unless you went super priority. Given your circumstances, I do hope it works out for you guys and the barristers have done their job. I'm curious to know what you eventually ...

Re: UKVCAS Appointment - SET M

I have 2 questions please. Can I scan documents using my phone and upload them? I'd say yes depending on what app you use, but it's better to use a scanner if you can. A little bit of effort now could save you the hassle/cost/time of having to re-scan at the appointment. A simple A4 page scanned by...

Re: Forgot to mention Child benefit - Set M

I think the list of "these benefits" didn't include child benefit.

My understanding of the question is to check if you're exempt from the income threshold. So if you meet normal financial requirements, it's fine.

Re: Forgot to mention Child benefit - Set M

Unless they ask specifically, there's no need to mention child benefit the British partner is entitled to claim. It's not a permitted source for the financial requirements anyway.

We also received child benefit but I don't recall mentioning it during FLR or ILR applications! Don't worry.

Re: Cash saving for Spouse ILR

Hello, I didn't even know about this and we just applied for ILR, but what you say seems to be correct. 7.2.3. At the indefinite leave to remain stage, the whole of the amount above £16,000 can be used. And the following equation is to be used: (x minus 16,000) = y Therefore, the minimum required £1...

Re: Indefinite to Remain application date

I think the BRP issue date is simply the date the card was printed, not when your visa status started. They seem to add extra time to some visas so it won't end exactly at 60 months and it's to your benefit. I think we had 2 months extra. I also assume your wife was in the UK on or before 07/02/2015...

Re: HO caseworker wrong? how to identify the 60 month requirement for spouse 5 years entitle ILR

I'm pretty sure your relevant start date is 23/July/2017 (am assuming you got this visa while in the UK). That's because the BRP issue date is the date the BRP card was printed. Our BRP was re-issued (due to HO error on our personal details) and the issue date changed while the "valid until" date re...

Re: Application for ILR

I'm no expert but until it's been cleared by the courts, neither you nor the case worker can assume otherwise. If it were me, and time permitting, I would try and get the statutory declaration thing done first, then apply for ILR. The risk of just losing the application fee alone makes it not worth ...

Re: Upgrade application to £500 priority service?

To answer myself, it seems it's not possible, judging from other posts for standard to super priority. It seems a bit unfair though, as surely there will be more priority + super priority applications from now on, meaning those applying after us will jump the queue and push us back more. Oh well. c'...

Upgrade application to £500 priority service?

We submitted an ILR application in Dec 2019 and were only given the standard option and super priority service at £800 for a decision in 1 day. I recently learned there is now a £500 priority service to get a decision in 5 days. While both fees are still extortionate on top of the ILR application fe...
