Re: Moving to Canada but unsure on how to bring money

Hello The only tip I can give you at the moment, is to avoid going online asking people how to move a large sum of money. You could well end-up in Canada with 25 quids. See with your bank. Exchange rates are always a ripoff. You have to swallow the pill at one point. If you find a valid commercial ...

Moving to Canada but unsure on how to bring money

Hello everyone, My partner and I are soon moving to Montreal, Quebec (Canada) in the next couple of months. We have a relatively large amount of money (£) saved across both our UK Bank Accounts (Barclays and Santander). We would like to bring this money with us, but we are having a hard time to find...

Re: Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

That's really great news, Sand6 and alterhase58! Thanks for clarifying it! I will definitely take the afternoon off to make sure that I can have it all done in the same day! Cheers. Now the only remaining question I have is if a "Game Director" applies as a "recognised professions" under the "direct...

Re: Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

How long does it usually take between completing the application online, and receiving both e-mails from the HM Passport Office (one to the person confirming my identity and the other one with instructions to mail the documents to them)? Realistically, how likely is that I can do all that in the sa...

1st Adult Passport application immediately after ceremony AND confirming requirements

Thanks for all the answers! This has helped me greatly! I do have a few more questions and was hoping that I could use this same thread (rename it) to ask this around... My current plan is that as soon as I come out from my citizenship ceremony, I was planning to apply for the passport online and go...

Re: Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

You tell him the truth. You are British but your passport is not ready at the moment. Show the certificate. He will check on his computer and let you go. Thanks! That's great news. I will try to look into more info about this online, as I am unsure if I can only use the Brazilian passport to enter ...

Re: Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

You should be able to get a passport in two weeks. If you are organised and send off all paperwork on the day or the ceremony you should be safe. Otherwise you have to wait to apply until you return as you need to send your certificate and current passport. Isn't the current waiting time for first ...

Re: Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

Hello As Brazilians don't need a visa to enter the UK, you can go to your trip and return on your Brazilian passport. If you fear any question at the border, take a copy of your citizenship certificate. Actually, the fact that you are British doesn't prohibit you from using any other citizenship yo...

Travelling abroad immediately after citizenship ceremony

Hello everyone, I am attending my citizenship ceremony two weeks from now, where I understand that after the ceremony I will have to torn apart and return my BRP (ILR) card back to the Home Office within 5 days from it. My plan is to apply for my first British passport right after that. However, it ...

Re: Can I legally work in QC with a SW1 (Federal) status?

Rare to find members on the forum familiar with every aspect of Canadian migration. Yes, I thought that could be the case. Thanks for the reply, though. Either way, I think I found the answer to my question elsewhere. I would like to share it here, in case someone else come across this scenario in ...

Can I legally work in QC with a SW1 (Federal) status?

Hello everyone, My partner and I got our Canadian PR approved back in October 2018, under the SW1 (Federal) status. When we first applied, we had the intention to live and work in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are currently still residing in the UK, but planning to move to Canada in the next few m...

Thanks for the answers, xavieryves and aman90. I will go ahead with the 10 February 2020 date then, as I am not in a super rush anyway. :D Once booked the ceremony with the Local Authority, does the invitation letter always comes via mail, or does some places send it via e-mail instead? I just want ...

Re: Physically present in the UK Requirement - Questions

Quick Question - I've seeing in the document checklist that I will have to scan ALL pages of my husband's passport to include with the application. Do I also have to do the same for my own passports, including blank pages? For ILR, I've skipped the blank pages. But maybe for NA it is a little bit d...

Re: AN Application Form - Questions

1. I don’t think the online form asks whether the application was made in UK or not. Also, Canada should suffice.. I only stated the country in my form. It does. The questions are: "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?" AND "Was this application made in the UK...

Re: AN Application Form - Questions

🤷🏻‍♀️.. overthinking n complicating unnecessarily. The only important question that must be correct is the tax reference number. 1. The reference number is on the decision letter 2. The application could be submitted online in Timbuktu but what matters is which embassy it was submitted at. 3. Tax r...

Re: AN Application Form - Questions

AN FORM - QUESTIONS Under "Parent One's/Two's details" Section: 1. That’s fine. State it as it is. Even if you don’t state their Italian nationality it will have no bearing on ur case, Under "Immigration details" Section: 1. The clue is in “if known”. 2. It doesn’t matter where she was. It matters ...

Re: Physically present in the UK Requirement - Questions

1. You are overthinking this whole process. 2. You are NOT making an visa application so do NOT require all sorts of supporting documents. 3. Submit only what is asked for otherwise you are just complicating your application with lots of unnecessary documents. Is there anything similar that I shoul...
