You cannot lose your right of abode by living outside the UK so you can go back to Australia for as long as you like without fear of losing it.

It is perfectly fine to travel with your current leave to remain in an expired passport along with your new passport. No need to transfer the visa unless you want t...

I bet you the actual decision to grant the work permit takes no more than 5 minutes to make. Your application more than likely sits in someone's "Inbox" for 5 months until eventually they get so sick and tired of looking at it, they finally get round to processing it.

The days of loyalty to your country and all that crap are over. I have dual citizenship as well with British and South African citizenship, and I can honestly say the main overriding reason I acquired British citizenship is for the ease of travel that a British passport affords me. Plain and simple....

In practice this is almost impossible for the Home Office to police. Although I would always advise sticking to the letter of the law, the reality is that most people I know on 2 year working holiday visas work the full 2 years without any problems.

Who knows what information UK immigration holds about you. Returning to the UK you might very well encounter a switched-on immigration official who can see in their system that you are a British citizen AND you are travelling on an Indian passport. It wouldn't take much for them to come to the concl...

If the OP obtained a British passport, her husband would be able to obtain a UK spouse visa and after 2 years apply for ILR and immediately apply for British citizenship (because he would have been resident in the UK for 3 years by then). This will almost certainly be far easier and take a shorter a...

For ILR or work permit FLR applications the purpose of bank statements are to show the Home Office that you have a regular income coming into your bank account. The absolute amount is not important, it's the transactions that the Home Office is looking for. When I applied for ILR 2 years ago I suppl...
