We applied on 30/04/2020, they sent us re-use email this week and IDV email, we chose opting out, hopefully we get an appointment after 10th Aug.

Update in my case: We applied on 30/04/2020, we received only one email on 23/07/2020 to book an appointment via UKVCAS, we booked the appointment on 05/08/2020 (the available one we found). He cannot return if his BRP runs out. Even if he returns, he has been living an independent life meaning he can be refused entry. He probably will not be able to get ILR even if he comes here. He is an adult and will then need to get a visa on his own. He has not been living an independent life now...
