Re: Citizenship application if spouse naturalizes and you have ILR

Your wife (and child) can apply as spouse of British citizen once you have attended the ceremony, they don't need to wait 12 months. (Refer to the AN guidance.). For the child there are no wait periods anyway (Refer to MN1 Guidance). You actually spoke to a Home Office call centre run by a third par...

The only potential acceleration is to book a private ceremony with your council, for an additional fee. note that councils arrange and manage the ceremonies and timelines/availability may vary. The council will contact you when they have received your certificate and arranging ceremonies. Best to co...

That’s it.
The next communication is the approval email unless they’ll contact you for queries. They won’t give you any progress updates.
Don’t get nervous.. it could take up to 6 months, sometimes even longer (generally not a sign there's an issue with your application).

Re: Naturalisation Refused. Appeal. Timelines?

There are no published processing targets for reconsideration.
One should hope they will realise the error - did you include the email/letter granting your ILR?
The fee will be refunded if/when they agree their decision was in error.

A British citizen cannot apply for a visa to enter the Uk. Solicitor should know this!
Note that passport applications are not immigration applications. HMPO have their own separate requirements.
