Re: unrestricted CoS allocation - time taken by UKBA ?

Hi Fedex, My company did it on 11th oct 2016 and to be honest, I don't think there is a realistic time line you're looking for. Depending upon other member reviews, most of them have mentioned that when their company called and emailed UKVI that's when they release the COS Allocation. Lemme know how...

Re: Unrestricted COS Allocation process time

Hi Srick, My visa expires in 7th of JAN 2017 but I am traveling in 2nd of Dec till 30th. And I wanted to sort everything out before traveling. My HR made request on 11th of OCT and She called UKVI yesterday and guess what they're saying it will take 18 weeks for allocation. However, I told my HR to ...

Re: unrestricted CoS allocation - time taken ?

Hi, My employer put in request on 11th Oct 2016 (yesterday) and she called today and they're saying 18 weeks. That's insane amount of time. My visa will expire in 7th of JAN 2017 and I am traveling in 2nd of DEC till 30th DEC 2016 that's why I wanted to finish my extension before December. My HR tol...

Re: unrestricted CoS allocation - time taken by UKBA ?

Hi JG12345, My employer called and they replied by saying that it will take 18 weeks. It is just like other members mentioned before. I have told my HR about the forum and that she will start calling and sending in few weeks time. And the only way to find out if they have allocated us a COS is to by...

Re: Unrestricted COS Allocation process time

Hi Srick, First of all, I wasn't trying to hijack your post. I have been researching a lot and found out that you can still get UCoS allocation but you need to ask your HR to call and email them stating your VISA is going to expire and tell them that you need allocation right away. Telephone: 0300 1...

Re: unrestricted CoS allocation - time taken by UKBA ?

Hi JG12345, I am on the same boat, I am going to extend my visa soon. And we need unrestricted not restricted COS. My employer just added request for 1 COS allocation. And like you said, I did read and found out that they allocated every year and I am not sure if we are going to get. Really worried....

Re: Unrestricted COS Allocation process time

Hi Srick and iworker, I just did some reading and it says that this year 2016, the COS allocation should have been applied before april or else they would need to wait for april 2017 to get renewed again. Is that true or can employer still request for COS allocation and get it approved. http://smith...

Re: Unrestricted COS Allocation process time

Hi Srick, I have same issue, We basically were creating a new Unrestricted COS for my extension and when we were about to assign we encounter an error saying "we didn't have COS allocated". Therefore, we submitted for 1 COS Allocation. It didn't show me anything like pending or Done (Don't know if i...

Re: travelling with 1 month validity on visa

Flower2013, to be honest, there is no rule stating that you have to apply within 3 months, you can apply anytime then only problem is that your extension time will be less. I myself don't wanna take risk so I am planning to do one day service and as moonlight55 mentioned you could get a letter from ...

Re: travelling with 1 month validity on visa

Hi Flower2013,

Why not just apply before traveling. My visa is expiring soon in Jan 2017 and I am planning to apply in end of OCT 2016.

You can always apply before leaving until unless you cannot do that.

Re: overseas for more than a month on Tier 2

Hi Paradoxical, I can assure you that since I got my Tier 2 Visa I have flown in many occasion upto 25 days or so and there is nothing you need to mention to anyone at all. In future if you're planning to apply for ILR then there are some requirements where it states that you cannot be out of UK for...

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Thanks for help ShrutiBlue,

Like I said my Visa Expires in 14th of Jan 2017. Can my Work start date on COS be from 2nd of Jan 2017 and apply for VISA in first week of November 2016. That way I won't be losing many days on my extension. I hope I am right but correct if I am not.

Regards,
dragon

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Aplinhar, As far as I know COS generates instantly (that's if I am not wrong and if process hasn't changed), I know that because when I my employer generated COS for my first Tier-2 application, I was present with my HR while HR was filling the form just in-case all the information was right. Theref...

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Hi aplinhar, Mine is expiring on 14th of Jan 2014 and I am flying back home for holiday in Dec2 for a month therefore, I am planning to extend my visa by end of October or November. I will ask my employer for a specific day let's say 1st of Nov 2016 to be my start date in COS and plan to book priori...

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Hi guys,

I called UKVI again and finally, your extension depends upon you how long your employer will hire you for. My employer will put 3 years in my Tier 2 Extension COS so therefore, I should have my visa for another 3 years and I should be eligible within another 2 years for ILR.

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Aren't we able to stay in UK under tier-2 visa for upto 6 years. According to https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/extend-your-visa How long you can stay You can apply to extend your visa for up to another 5 years, as long as your total stay is not more than 6 years. Doesn't that mean when we extend ou...

Re: Tier 2 Extension query

Hi Guys, I am confused too because my visa Expires in 14th of Jan 2017 and I thought I was able to apply atleast 2-3 months before my visa expires. Casa can you please clarify if KGM is correct or wrong, are we eligible to apply before our visa expires for Tier2 extension only not Tier 2 to ILR. Reg...

Re: Tier 2 switch - two offers (advice)

Hi Eduleal, As far as I know though I am not as lucky as you, what I know is that my current employer where A Rated Sponsor but due to no needing anyone to sponsor they didn't update and weren't sponsor anymore. When I joined this company, they said they would apply for sponsor once more and luckily...
