I am at the same boat as you exactly...I recieved my DLR in August 2011.

Dont know whetehr to apply or am i wasting my money

After reading the comments I have come to a conclusion that we can apply for child tax credit as it can be only done if both parent do the claim. But this wont affect her renewal application. My salary would go up next year. So worst case scenario is that it will stop 7 months before applying and th...

So the overall outcome..Please do not comment on child benefit because everyone is entitled. We are talking here about child tax credit...

CAN i apply for child tax credit or not?

would this affect my wife's spouse visa renewal in a 1.5 years?

In my opinion since the financial requirement is £18600 for extending spouse visa and such earning doesn't classified as low income which is essentially needed for claiming most of the benefits. I think with at least £18600 of income the couple will only be eligible for child benefit which British/...

I still dont get it.... why would it be a risk if we are claiming on a joint applicant.

I was told there is no risk at all but this forum has helped me a lot previously and would like a definite answer

I have just filled and sent the evidence yesterday. I have the same situation as you and they asked for grandparents detail. I have sent them my brp with the indefinite leave to remain & my wife spouse visa and her country's passport.. i ignored the grand parental documents. hope it should be suffic...

I am not talking out of experience but if you look at the forum there are many examples...But as i said its a gamble of the reconsideration money if you want to risk it... W...

it depends from each case and wether the case worker is having a good day and gave a discretion.

What was the reason of the overstay?

Didnt apply yet. Need to do life in the uk test first. I couldnt have time to do it due to work and university. So might apply in June. My case is the same almost.
