Re: Spouse visa & UC

-his earnings and any capital he has, will reduce your monthly Universal Credit benefit payment. I've just looked this up. For every £1 you or your partner earns, your monthy UC payment goes down by 55p, until your UC amount is £0. While you claim Universal Credit, it's unlikely his working will st...

It seems the hospitals do use debt collectors too, as well as telling the Home Office of the unpaid debt. From their guidance- Sharing data on those with debts. 12.11 NHS bodies (or debt collection agencies working on their behalf) can share non-clinical data with the Home Office, via the Department...

She has her own NHS number too. Having an NHS number does not give bill free use of the NHS. Those who have to pay to use the NHS have their own unique number too, for all their health records to be held under that number. The gov.uk site makes it very clear that the NHS will only be bill free when...

Re: ILR for wife of (British Citizen from Tier 1 Entrepreneur)

Apart from Universal Credit being a new welfare system, during Covid, the UK operated a Trust and Protect for those asking for welfare benefits as they didn't have savings. The warning was given on their application, that they would be asked for documents/proof at a later stage and to make sure they...

Universal Credit is a new benefit, brought in under the welfare reforms. UC is still being rolled out across the country for the exisiting claimants...

Re: Early EUSS application due to the retirement

Well the reason I used "yet" was that at some point in the future my mother would be able to get a pension if she lives long enough for it, especially her being 67 years of old working full time and having regular contributions towards her pension pot. So , it's not a case of a "freeloader " who is...

If anyone comes to the UK with a spouse visa and no public fund mentioned in the visa but the partner is a British citizen and in universal credit. The spouse cannot collect any kind of public funds. If the BC wants to collect by him or her self, fine. But not as a couple.
It would be benefit fruad if they did not decale their partner to Universal Credit; or most other welfare benefits

Re: Claiming Child benefit

From a Benefit calculator If you have Limited Leave to Remain or Enter you usually have no recourse to public funds. This means that you cannot claim most benefits, or have someone else's benefit claim increased to cover you. If a claim is made it may affect your right to remain in the UK. There ar...

It's so unfortunate that you didn't take advice when you realised your wife could not pass the Life in the UK Test for ILR and her visa was running out. It must be very stressful for you both while you wait for the result of her application. There are a couple of articles here that might help unders...

Also my understanding is that If it is Student/Maintenance I have to pay it back is not for free. A huge percentage don't pay it back and it is written off, with that loss paid by the taxpayers. Which is why it is said that University's are state funded (paid for by the taxpayers). It's why Boris s...

You have also not mentioned your own citizenship and that of your wife and your ages. You could look at the Youth Mobility visa if either of you are under 30 and a citizen of specific countries. @secret.simon They cant, they have children.
