Re: Can I go for naturalisation?

Hi Thanks for your reply. I thought the criteria for naturalisation is to have 12 months ILR prior application and I will fulfill that requirement in Sept 2009. Is it usual that the ILR back dated to the initial approval date not the 1st arrival date? Thanks The other criteria is residency in the U...

Re: claiming benefits whilst being a visa sponsor

It will certainly affect you potential spouse's ability to obtain a spousal visa. It will be viewed as if you don't have enough resource to maintain yourself never mind your husband who will be coming to join you. If the OP has enough spare money (from the money she currently claims and earns) to s...

Having UK no. would cost you a lot. This isn't stictly true. You can get some free personal numbers in the UK that can be redirected to a telephone in India for free (costs the caller though about 0.5GBP/min to call). Unfortunately though these types of numbers are often used by scammers in Nigeria...

Re: Uk Mobile Number

Hi Friends, Can we get UK mobile number in India itself if so can we put that number in our resume and apply for UK jobs. Will it help us in job search. Thanks, Sajan Chandran 91-984003119. If you got a UK mobile phone SIM you could use it in India, though whenever you received a call it would cost...

All you have to do is fill in the new form Tier 2, attach it with change of circumstances form(UKBA website), attach all the other documents required under Tier 2 (check UKBA website for details) and send it off. Try doing it through a solicitor beca...

It's you being daft :-) Those who receive their visa within 2 days or less are included in the figures for 7 days or less (so 8% took more than 2, but less then 7 days). The page you want to look at is http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/missions/unitedkingdom-royaumeuni/visas/processing-traitement-eng.asp...

I agree. Visa needed in almost all cases. Would be free and easy if you were travelling with your (EU) husband. Unfortunately you have to pay and open all your personal details to their scrutiny. Does a schengen visa issued as the spouse of a British citizen actually say it was obtained that way? A...

The way I read it was that the person of professional standing didn't have to be a British citizen or a passport holder (not everybody has a passport...), so just leave the field blank.

To be safe you could note somewhere that the passport number can be obtained by contacting the person directly.

Try looking at this link. http://www.dwp.gov.uk/international/ssa.asp Don't think that is correct. Obviously not as good as getting money back but may b...

I have seen a case of where the ECO did bring up the subject of why previously they had stayed much longer in the UK than they said when they applied for the previous visa. Always make sure you apply before your visa expires.

I'm presuming you came here on a spouse visa, and if so the earliest you can apply is 28 days prior to the 14/12/2010, which I think is the 17/11/2010. This is of course assuming the rules haven't changed by then.
