Spouses of British citizens usually seem to get 6 months multi-entry visas. Guess it's because as they can't charge for them they don't want you to come back too often.

Secondly, if you are so keen to join the new job, then ask home office if by paying extra they consider the in person appointment and this way you can get your documents asap but will cost you more. Is this a 'serious' suggestion? There's a name for it! Think you misunderstand what was meant....

This form of sponsorship differs from those mentioned above in that the applicant is sponsored by a private individual e.g. a friend or relative. There is got to be a way to go about this to get a simple tourest visa. My passport is collecting refusal stamps and I will look pretty bad when and if I apply for visas elsewhere. The Home Office is wrong in there assumption that I would not leave the UK. I clearly have enough money to fund my tri...

I don't believe you've got any grounds for an appeal, so all you could do is apply again (and obviously pay again).

You may get lucky (like your friend) or you may get refused again.

Assuming you apply using NCS (so you keep your passport) you can leave the UK for a holiday after applying. Though you may want someone to watch your mail, as if the BIA contact you for more information they won't give you that long to respond.

You can get some free personal numbers in the UK that can be redirected to a telephone in India for free (costs the caller though about 0.5GBP/min to call). Unfortunately though these types of numbers are often used by scammers in Nigeria...
